After getting checked-in to the Men’s dorm and meeting my new roommates and counselor for the week, we went outside to meet the girls that were in our group. We played some get-to-know-you and group bonding games! It was really fun to connect with a lot of the youth in my group and create real and lasting relationships with them even after EFY was over.
During the week of EFY, my group had many activities and visited many church history sites. I think we all grew closer together as a group hearing each other’s testimonies about EFY and the experiences we shared together.
Some of the many awesome things we did as a group were:
- Visiting Liberty Jail
- Attend the Kansas City Temple
- Perform in a Variety Show
- Games Night!
While all those events were all good, some could only be felt as one-sided experiences. So I was grateful that we had a group study every morning that let us refuel spiritually for the day and be inspired to share our thoughts with each other at the end of the day and know what that person learned or felt about the day. With everybody being very supportive of each other, we were very comfortable sharing our thoughts, fears and good experiences.
This really was proving to be one of the best weeks EVER!
